Cala Ratjada is located in the northeastern part of the Balearic island of Mallorca. The formerly small fishing village has become a popular holiday resort.

Cala Ratjada is not only for bathing and water sports enthusiasts the ideal holiday destination, also nature lovers and hikers come in the wooded area fully at their expense.
Nature reserves and interesting places in the area
From Cala Agulla, a hiking trail leads to Cala Mesquida and the nature reserve. Walking along the coast in a southerly direction, you will reach Capdepera. On the hill Recò is the oldest castle of the island. From up here you have a fantastic view to Cala Ratjada.
In the surroundings of Cala Ratjada there are still many places worth seeing. With a hire car, the route can be determined individually. Worthwhile are, among other things, trips to the town of Arta with its caves of the same name, to the most beautiful town on the island, Polensa or to the peninsula of Formentor with its 150-year-old lighthouse.

Find a good restaurant
Cala Ratjada is all about tourism. Countless restaurants vie for customers. Most, however, offer the familiar international cuisine. You can get Mallorcan specialities at the restaurant Es Coll d’Os .
At lunchtime, the restaurant is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 15:00. In the evening, you can enjoy the good cuisine except on Sundays from 19:30 to 22:30.
Find the special hotel
Whether it’s a huge bed and breakfast or a tiny guesthouse, there’s something for everyone in Cala Ratjada. We recommend the small Hotel Ses Rotges. The 24 rooms are stylishly furnished and guests are quickly taken by the atmosphere of the 200-year-old house.
Sights in Cala Ratjada
The town centre in particular is well worth a visit. The Plaça dels Pins is lined with many pretty little houses, and the old harbour looks picturesque.
Although you’ll find a few yachts in the turquoise waters, it’s primarily fishing boats that head out every day to catch their catch.
From the harbour, you can stroll along a promenade to Son Moll beach. In one of the numerous cafés that line the promenade, you can plan the rest of your holiday in peace.
The surroundings of Cala Ratjada
The small town of Artà, just over 10 kilometres from Cala Ratjada, is definitely worth a visit.
The baroque church, rebuilt in the 19th century, is well worth a visit, as is the Transfiguració del Senyor parish church.
It was built in 1248 and rebuilt in Gothic style in 1563.
Afterwards, with plenty of time to spare, stroll through the pretty old town and enjoy typical Mallorcan specialities in one of the many eateries. Another tourist highlight of the area is the town of Capdepera. Here you can visit the best preserved fortress in Mallorca. The picturesque old town is also worth a stroll here.
Trip to Palma
It will take you just over an hour to get from Cala Ratjada to Palma by hire car. Just follow the MA-15, the route is well signposted and hard to miss.
