FIND A GOOD RESTAURANT

Countless restaurants make choosing one in Phoenix a pain. We recommend the Landmark. It’s located in a building that was built in 1908 and originally served as a church. It’s furnished with antiques and offers classic American dishes at fair prices.

FIND A GOOD HOTEL

There’s no shortage of good hotels in Phoenix, either. Fans of luxurious hostels can reserve a room at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. You’ll reside in a building dating back to 1929 and enjoy supremely comfortable rooms, large pools and surrounding golf courses. Even Hollywood stars Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe appreciated the comforts of home.

A REWARDING DESTINATION IN THE SURROUNDINGS

If the heat in Phoenix gets too much for you, you can steer the hire car to Flagstaff. The 236 kilometres will take you a good two hours. Flagstaff is located at an altitude of just over 2,100 metres. Even at the height of summer, the temperature rarely rises above 30° Celsius. There are extensive hiking trails around the town.

Ambitious hikers can climb Arizona’s highest mountain, Humphreys Peak. It has an elevation of 10,851 feet. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a great view.

And on the drive back to Phoenix, you’ll have plenty of time to think about what destinations you’d like to explore next in your hire car.
