The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes visitors from the often blazing hot Palm Springs to the breezy and cool mountain station 2595 metres above sea level. From there, you’ll enjoy fantastic views of the city and surrounding area. A two-way ticket costs $23.95. Afterwards, you can roam through the untouched landscape on numerous hiking trails. From Monday to Friday, the first cable car goes up at 10:00 am. On weekends, you can explore the mountains from 8:00 am. For the return trip you should arrive at the mountain station at 21:45 at the latest. Then the last cable car floats down to the valley.
Back in town, you can still check out historic aircraft at the Palm Springs Air Museum before steering your hire car back to Ontario and thinking about what places you’ll visit next. The museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. A ticket costs $15.
