On a beautiful bay of Lake Mälaren lies the town of Västeras, in the middle of the province of Västmanland in eastern Sweden.

In 2006, the world championship in rubber boot throwing was held in this town in eastern Sweden.

The cityscape of Västeras is greatly embellished by the city castle, also in the surrounding area are beautiful castles such as Ängsö Castle or Tido Castle.
