Culturally interested guests can visit several museums in Umea, which can be easily reached by hire car. Of particular interest are the Umedalen Sculpture Park, the Provincial Museum and the Open Air Museum.
To this end, Umea has an active music scene; in addition to traditional folk music, the annual jazz festival is particularly popular and is one of the oldest of its kind.
