Sights in Waren-Müritz
In Waren-Müritz, in addition to the forests and lakelands, there are plenty of recommended sights such as the new town hall, the Kacheltöpferei (tile pottery) built in 1905, the Müritzwasserhaus (Müritz water house), the marine museum, the festival and the Haus des Gastes (guest house) on the Neuer Markt.
This is a listed half-timbered house which offers exhibitions and information about the town for visitors and tourists. Interesting is next to the worth seeing Marienkirche also the Georgenkirche, which is the oldest building in the city.
Another cultural highlight is the Müritz Museum, the oldest natural history museum in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was built back in 1866. Today it is called Müritzeum – House of a Thousand Lakes. Here you can also visit the Müritz Aquarium and the museum garden.
