Discover Kusadasi by Hire Car
It doesn’t always have to be the Turkish Riviera or Istanbul when a holiday in Turkey is on the cards.
In addition to these destinations, an extremely popular destination is, for example, the city of Kusadasi on Turkey’s Aegean coast, which is about 90 kilometres from Izmir.
An important pillar of tourism has always been the possibility for cruise ships to dock in the port of Kusadasi, so that even today many cruises make a stopover here so that holidaymakers can experience the sights or simply enjoy the beautiful location.
History of Kusadasi
Like many other places here in Turkey, this place also looks back on a long history of settlements. The city of Neapolis, which was under the banner of Ephesus, was once located here.
When their era came to an end, the thriving city of Kusadasi emerged, which became an important trading center of the region in the Middle Ages.
Today there are about 28,000 people living here, though of course tourists make the place far busier.
Sights in Kusadasi
Sights here, as in many other Turkish towns, are of course plentiful, for after all, people have lived here since ancient times.
For example, one possible excursion with a hire car would be the castle island near Kusadasi.Furthermore, the hire car can also be used to drive a little further to the port of Didyma, where there are the ruins of the famous temple of Apollo to see.
Without much effort, on the other hand, a trip to the old town of Kusadasi is a good idea.
