Discover Bielitz by Hire Car
The Polish city of Bielice has a long and eventful history and is thus worth a visit, especially for travelers interested in culture.
In the past, for example, Bielice was the location for craftsmen who offered their skills throughout the region.
Interesting is also the dominions of the city, this is especially evident in the many small and large manor houses, castles and palaces that can be visited in and around Bielitz.
History of Bielitz
Bielitz has always been a German language island, meaning that most of the population spoke German and had corresponding origins, this tradition ended only after the end of the Second World War.
From that time Bielitz was shaped by the new occupying power the Russians, unfortunately a number of historically valuable cultural monuments were also lost during this time.
But the great castle of Bielice survived the last centuries without much damage and in recent years has been turned into a great museum.
Recreational opportunities in Bielitz
This museum, run by the Silesian provincial government, mainly features exhibitions on the subject of the late Middle Ages in all its variations. In addition, there are regular special exhibitions held in the castle’s quaint cellar vaults.
First and foremost, however, Polish artists are presented to the general public in the museum.
For further tours in the region of Bielitz, a hire car is a good idea, Silesia waits on the one hand with scenic beauty and on the other hand, many old cultural cities and walls can be discovered.
When driving a hire car, you should rather drive at a steady pace, as the roads in Poland are not in the best condition.
