One of the highlights in Hagen is Hohenlimburg Castle, which is located in the district of the same name. Dating from the 16th century, the castle is one of the most popular destinations in the region and a true voyage of discovery into past centuries. High up on the battlements of the castle, you have a breathtaking view over the city.

This tower is part of the “Three Towers Trail” and forms an impressive ensemble with the Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm and the Bismarck-Turm. Another greeting from the 13th century sends the moated castle Werdringen. On an exploratory tour through today’s museum, a unique insight into times long past opens up to the visitor.
Furthermore, the “Middle Ages Spectaculum”, a medieval market that attracts thousands of visitors, takes place here every year. Other buildings worth seeing in Hagen are the “lange Riecke” – a half-timbered house settlement, the Haus Harkorten and the Villa Post, which today houses the town’s elementary school.
