At its foot is the Biodome, a biotope zoo created in the former Olympic cycling stadium. Directly across the street is the botanical garden.
Sights in Montreal
Montreal has a very beautiful old town with buildings from a 400 year old architectural culture. This part of the city is best discovered on foot or by horse-drawn carriage. Chinatown and downtown are also worth seeing.
Unique is the underground city. The subway network has been linked between offices, hotels, cinemas, restaurants and residential buildings to form a 30km underground pedestrian zone.
The neighbouring city of Laval, also located on an island, is known for beautiful parks and huge shopping malls.
