Hamrun is a very beautiful small town on Malta; it lies south of the port region of the island, its population of about 9,500 is called Tas-Sikkina.
In the mid-19th century, the area developed into a village structure, the “Village of St Joseph”. Even today, Hamrun’s main street is “St. Joseph High Street.” At the end of the 19th century, the village became the parish of Hamrun, famous for its red earth.
