Nancy, a lovely city in the east of France is very idyllic situated on the Meurthe river.
The town in Lorraine is an important railway junction and is therefore very well reached by train. From the train station, you can quickly get to the wonderful city centre with the help of a hire car.

In the historic city centre, one feels transported back to earlier times. Three wonderful squares follow each other, the Place de la Carriére, the Place Royale or Place Stanislas and the ‘Place d`Alliance’. The entire architectural ensemble of the Old Town of Nancy was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. The entire city centre, the new town and the old town, are separated by an esplanade and are best explored on foot. On the way, a visit to one of the traditional cafés and restaurants is recommended. While there, you can observe the lively hustle and bustle in the streets and alleys of the capital of the Département Meurthe-et-Moselle.
However, Nancy has other sights in store that are well worth a visit: For example, the magnificent cathedral, a baroque building from the 18th century. Many corners and whole streets are dominated by the epoch of Art Nouveau, the ‘Muse? de l`Ecole de Nancy’, already very attractive from the outside, is an Art Nouveau museum. Furthermore, you should treat yourself to a visit to the ?Mus?e Historique Lorrain?, it contains archaeological finds of the area.

Nancy’s diversity is reflected in its many important buildings, but also in its infinitely beautiful parks and green spaces. The English-style Pépinière park is a feast for the eyes and a popular meeting place for young and old, locals and tourists.
