One of the most important sights in Perpignan is the Palace of the Kings of Majorca. It dates back to the 13th century and is a reminder of the time when Perpignan was the capital of the Kingdom of Mallorca.
The cathedral of Sant Joan Baptista dates from the 14th century. It has a historic carillon and an ornate cloister, as well as an old cemetery. Even the main train station in the centre of Perpignan is worth a visit, as it was designed by the famous painter Salvador Dali.
