Discover Vina del Mar by Hire Car
Vina del Mar is a town in the metropolitan area of the Chilean city of Valparaiso.
The city of about 300,000 is located on a beautiful bay on Chile’s Pacific coast and is one of South America’s most popular holiday destinations.
Vina del Mar is mainly known as a seaside resort far beyond the borders of Chile and has very beautiful beaches, which are visited in the summer months by tourists from all over Chile, but also from other countries in South America and also increasingly Europe.
Leisure activities in Vina del Mar
The city with its beautiful palm-lined avenues and promenades, its cozy cafes and restaurants, as well as the discos and bars also offers visitors a rich cultural program. In January and February, for example, numerous nationally renowned festivals also take place during the high season.
Vina del Mar is also known for its numerous parks, which are very generously laid out. In one of these parks is also the flower clock, the landmark of this tourist center. Directly at this flower clock rises a view hill which can be climbed by steps.
From there you have a beautiful view of the whole town of Vina del Mar, as well as the entire bay of Valparaiso. Not far from there is the Botanical Garden (Jardin Botanico) with a variety of plants and the Parque Sausalito with a large man-made lake.
Excursions around Vina del Mar
Vina del Mar is also an excellent starting point for excursions to nearby Valparaiso or to the surrounding areas of this metropolis.
