Leisure options in Santiago
Just 50 km away, the Andean Codilleras offer a rich variety of ski centers and rivers suitable for rafting. Of particular note are Termas de Chillan, Portillo and Valle Nevado. These places are only an hour away from Santiago and are very easy to reach by hire car.
It is therefore a good idea to go to the coast, which is only 120 km away by hire car, to visit the large number of seaside resorts that have a good tourist infrastructure. The towns of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso are particularly worthy of mention here.
