San Jose del Cabo is located at the southern end of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico, at the confluence of the estuary “des Cortes” with the Pacific Ocean.

Sights in San Jose del Cabo
Pirates, Jesuit preachers and immigrants shaped the town, whose main square in the old town is now a popular meeting place. Here stands the imposing town church “Parroquia San Jose” and in the side streets visitors will find many nice shops, ice cream parlours and bakeries with small cafés.
Slowly, San Jose del Cabo is spreading out, growing to the north and west, where new neighborhoods are springing up. On the miles of snow-white sandy beaches that almost reach the village of La Playita, a tourist zone is emerging with new accommodations and many sports facilities.

Fishing trips from the small harbor are especially popular. San Jose del Cabo is considered one of the best fishing areas for marlin or tuna on the Mexican Pacific coast.
Sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts converge on the popular Costa Azul. At the west end of the beach is a good surf spot. The unusual, charming desert and mountain landscape around the town can be well explored by hire car. Tours to the picturesque East Cape or the secluded beaches and bays south of La Playita are interesting.
