Thrifty Hire Car

Founded in 1958, Thrifty is one of the most successful hire car companies in the world. The secret of Thrifty’s success, which together with the hire car company “Dollar” has formed the independent company “Dollar-Thrifty” since 1997, lies in its nationwide franchise network.

So Thrifty, along with company-owned stores, has a global presence. Thrifty has a total of 1,000 branches in 70 countries, and together with Dollar, the company is even present in more than 100 countries with 2,500 rental stations.

The fleet comprises around 250,000 vehicles. The master licensee for both brands in Germany is “Car & Fly GmbH”, a company of the Terstappen Group. In Germany, a fleet of 3,500 vehicles is thus available at over 30 stations. With the slogan “value fulfilment at all times”, Thrifty is primarily targeting brand- and price-conscious customers from the tourism industry and the entrepreneurial sector.

Thrifty offers its customers a wide range of vehicle services from cars to Jeeps and convertibles to trucks, multi-seaters or vans. Commercial customers can also rent entire refrigerated vans from Thrifty to transport perishable goods, for example.

On request, Thrifty customers can also get their vehicles with optional equipment. These include a navigation system, car phone, trailer hitch or a tail lift. When it comes to passenger cars, Thrifty also focuses on variety. From small cars to station wagons, no wishes are left unfulfilled.

The flexible fleet management makes Thrifty interesting not only for tourists, but also for business customers. So Thrifty also offers longer rental periods of up to 18 months, individual terms are also possible.
