Atesa Hire Car
The Spanish hire car company Atesa is one of the best known providers in Spain. The company name Atesa stands for “Autotransporte Turístico Español” and shows that Atesa focuses almost exclusively on the tourism sector for its hire car services.
Founded in 1949, Atesa has been part of the US-based hire car company ANC since 1998. Since then, the company has also operated under the brand name “National Atesa”. (See also National)
In Spain, Atesa has a presence with around 100 stations, mainly in major tourist hotspots. These include Spain’s main airports such as Mallorca, Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. Atesa is also present at all major train stations such as in Gijon, Huelva, La Coruna or Santander. Atesa’s fleet consists of around 25,000 vehicles of various makes. The range of automobiles, which are on average no older than eight months, extends from small cars for city traffic to station wagons and vans.
If required, customers can have their hire car from Atesa equipped with various extras. Child seats and navigation systems are just as much a part of this as roof racks, ski holders for the car roof or snow chains, which makes this offer particularly attractive for tourists.
