On Sunday, you can visit the exhibit starting at 12:00 pm. A ticket costs ten dollars.
To African American baseball players, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is a memorial. Here you will learn about legendary teams like the New York Black Yankees or the KC Monarchs. The entrance ticket costs ten dollars. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday from 12:00 pm. It is located in the same building as the American Jazz Museum.
When you spot giant badminton balls on your stroll through town, you know you’re approaching the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Inside, you’ll find a remarkable collection of American, African, European and Asian art. The 14th century Chinese temple in particular captivates visitors. The museum is open on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. On Thursday and Friday, you can admire the artworks from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. On Saturday, the exhibit opens at 10:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm and on Sunday, the gates open at 12:00 pm. Closing time is from 17:00. Admission is free.
To end your stroll around town, you could visit the Arabia Steamboat Museum. The steamboat Arabia collided with a log on the Missouri River in 1856 and sank. Some of the items salvaged overboard are on display. The museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Only on Sunday do the gates not open until 12:00 noon. From January to March the museum closes at 16:00. There are guided tours that last about an hour and a half. The last tour in summer is always at 16:00. In winter you have to be there one hour earlier. A ticket costs $14.50.
