You can also visit the museum for free on Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Varying shows and movies are offered at the Florida Theatre, which opened as a movie theater in 1927. The ornate interior is worth a detour even without a performance.

Modern art, works from 1960 onward, is presented by MOCA Jacksonville. The exhibit includes nearly 1,000 pieces by artists such as Hans Hofman, Alexander Calder and Alex Katz. You can visit the museum from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Thursday it is even open until 21:00. On Sunday, it doesn’t unlock until 12:00.

You could end your city stroll with a walk along the three-kilometre River Walk and a visit to River Park. The River Park is also where you’ll find the much-visited Friendship Fountain, which shoots water 36 metres into the air.
