As you approach the city of Landshut, seat of the government of Lower Bavaria, you are first greeted by Trausnitz Castle: the oldest parts of the fortifications date back to 1204, and it was the seat of the Wittelsbach dynasty for centuries.

Every four years the Landshut Wedding takes place, in which the marriage of Duke George the Rich to Hedwig is re-enacted. It’s not only then that Landshut provides a backdrop for a very special stay.
