History is tangibly alive in the pedestrian zone: numerous medieval buildings have been preserved or restored, and the Isar flows through the city, giving it a certain tranquility.
After a stroll through the city, you can stop off at one of the typical Bavarian eateries and enjoy the regional cuisine before setting off on another sightseeing tour. St. Martin’s Church in the city centre is visible from a distance thanks to the tallest brick tower in the world.
In the entire city center, before whose borders you best park your hire car because of the numerous traffic-calmed zones stands a historically interesting house next. To this end, Landshut is also a very green city: together, all the parks and green spaces make up an area of about 235 hectares.
Every four years the Landshut Wedding takes place, in which the marriage of Duke George the Rich to Hedwig is re-enacted. It’s not only then that Landshut provides a backdrop for a very special stay.
