Leisure activities in Bonn
While walking around Bonn’s city centre, you can sit in the sun on the sprawling Münsterplatz in front of the well-restored old post office building at the foot of the Beethoven monument and enjoy a coffee from one of the many surrounding bakeries, or feel transported to Italy or the south of France while watching the relaxed hustle and bustle.
Here you can quickly strike up a conversation with people and hear interesting stories about the life of a Bonn resident.
Afterwards, it is worth taking a walk from Kaiserplatz to Poppelsdorf Palace, where an avenue lined with chestnut trees invites you to dream. Here you will also find a lonely and unguarded little box containing books.
The visitor can take a book here, sit down on a bench in the shade of the ancient trees and put the book back afterwards. He can also take it home, but must then leave one of his books there in exchange.
Vater Rhein is still one of the most beautiful spots in Bonn, so in summer a colourful mix of students, artists and business people gather at the old customs to drink a cool beer in the beer garden and exchange news.
