Discover Aalborg by Hire Car

Aalborg is a major city in Jutland. With its 160,000 inhabitants, the city is one of the largest cities in Denmark and also the capital of the Nordjylland region.

Aalborg is idyllically situated on the Limfjord, which is the connection to the open sea. Especially historically, Aalborg has a lot to offer.

Sights in Aalborg

Founded by the Vikings, the city developed into one of the most important trading centres in Scandinavia. Worth a visit are especially the many old but very beautiful buildings of the city, such as Aalborghus Slot or Aalborg Rådhus.

A walk through the old parts of the city is also always worthwhile.
Aalborg and the surrounding area is also known for its diverse glass art.

So on the harbour front of Aalborg lies the old icebreaker Elbjørn, which is not only a popular restaurant ship.
The icebreaker contains a glassblowing workshop, where the glass artist Rikke Precht works.

Exploring the Aalborg area

Only about half an hour from Aalborg, you will find the beautiful east coast with its miles of sandy beaches. The beaches are ideal for families with small children.

They are fine sandy and slope gently into the sea. In addition, the waves here are not as strong as in the North Sea. For holidaymakers without their own car, hire cars are particularly suitable for excursions. These offer great flexibility.
